J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed 41 year old Norman Pollock, the former head of King Sturge’s Glasgow office, as a consultant with a roving role to assist the development of its commercial property client base nationally.
The appointment of such a senior figure in Scotland’s surveying profession is regarded as a key component to the advancement of Shepherd’s development plans for its commercial property offering throughout Scotland and the UK.
Steve Barnett, Glasgow-based partner in J&E Shepherd, said, “Norman is a very well known and respected figure within the Scottish property scene with extensive experience providing advice to a broad range of clients specialising in development and investment consultancy, agency and valuation. Norman is a great addition to our team who strengthens our Glasgow and West Coast commercial base and reaffirms our attitude and ambition.”
Norman Pollock said, “I’m delighted with this appointment and am certain that my strong corporate background can bring to Shepherd’s an extension to the quality service it is already delivering to clients on a national basis.
“In my view, Shepherd’s is a classic example of a proper, traditional partnership surveying structure with fantastic coverage throughout the UK with a network of local offices delivering a quality service to a local client base. I can see clear synergies between Shepherd’s existing client base and many of the contacts I’ve been dealing with over recent years.”
Glasgow-born Pollock started his career at Webster & Co in 1993, initially as a surveyor and latterly as a shareholding director. He remained with the firm through its series of mergers and integration into Colliers in 2003 before leaving to head up King Sturge’s Glasgow office in 2006.
Established 125 years ago, J&E Shepherd delivers a valuation service throughout the UK, from a network of 32 offices throughout Scotland and over 75 locations in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. The firm offers a multi disciplinary property service to include valuation, commercial agency, building surveying, rent reviews, development and investment consultancy, rating and property management.
