Press releases menu

J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has been appointed to sell a fully fitted
office building in Dundee city centre with planning permission available
to convert second, third and attic floors to form six residential flats.

The premises, at 50 Castle Street, sit on the southern edge of the city
centre, with easy access to the pedestrianised areas of High Street,
Overgate Shopping Centre, other central business areas of the city and the
railway and bus stations. Dundee airport is only a few minutes drive away.

The B listed premises comprise a substantial stone built mid/corner
terrace building with access available from both Castle Street and
Exchange Street. Included in the sale is the former entrance to Stewart's
Distillers, which offers an imposing addition to the building containing
some impressive architectural features.

Rob Whitson, commercial surveyor at J&E Shepherd's Dundee office, said,
"This property offers a range of development opportunities, including the
formation of a self contained first floor office with superb entrance, or
a ground floor corner office or similar facility with basement storage.

"Whilst the existing planning permission would foresee a likely split of
ownership post development, a single purchaser is sought for the entire
building."

It is anticipated that the ground and first floors of the property will be
retained as offices with the grand entrance at 40 Castle Street providing
access to the first floor.

Offers in excess of £650,000 are invited for this exciting city centre
development.
