& E Shepherd are pleased to announce a sponsorship deal
that sees them supporting one of the worlds toughest rowing
races, the inaugural Ocean Fours Rowing Race 2006. This will
see 15 teams of four compete on equal terms in identically
purpose built 29 foot ocean rowing boats across 3,100 miles
of North Atlantic Sea starting New York Harbour on 10 June
2006 and arriving in Falmouth some two months later.
Senior partner John
Bennett has stated : “We are very pleased and proud to be
involved in such an historic and exciting race. The Oceans
Four Rowing Race involves skills and attributes that mirror
our company strategy allowing us to develop through the success
of the teams that will take part in this once in a lifetime
adventure.”
The race will be
called the J & E Shepherd Ocean Fours Rowing Race 2006
and it is understood that Sky TV is to be making a documentary
on it.
J & E Shepherd will combine their
involvement in this unique event as a chance to raise funds
and awareness for Meningitis Trust. It is proposed to hold
four dinners between now and the start of the race in Dundee,
Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
