Former Sco-Fro food factory and cold store in Newton Stewart sold to private investor

Acting on behalf of frozen seafood and ambient grocery food supplier Sco-Fro Group, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has sold a former food factory and cold store in Newton Stewart to a private investor.

The 22,600 sq ft property comprises an original single storey industrial building with integral offices and food processing fit-out, together with a bespoke cold store extension. The factory is complemented by a large loading area and car park at the front along with further expansion land at the rear.

Alternatively, the overall size of the site offers potential for redevelopment into a number of smaller letting units which will benefit from the building’s prime position in Holmpark Industrial Estate, lying a short distance from the A75 trunk road. In turn, this road connection offers access to both the Cairnryan ferry port and M74 / M6 junctions at Gretna.

Fraser Carson, associate in Shepherd’s Dumfries office, said: “We are delighted to have worked alongside Sco-Fro in securing the sale of this surplus factory. The new owner’s experience in asset management will provide a new chapter for the property and we are equally pleased to be retained as letting agents.”

Colin Liddell at Sco-Fro Group added: “We are pleased to conclude the sale of our factory and delighted that it will again be put to use for the benefit of the local economy. Fraser did an excellent job on our behalf, especially in the current difficult times we live in.”
