Highland Woodchip instructs Shepherd to let units at new build Green Energy Park at Grantown-on-Spey

Highland Woodchip has instructed Shepherd Chartered Surveyors to market industrial units at a new build Green Energy Park in Grantown-on-Spey to let on flexible lease terms.

Grantown-on-Spey occupies a strategic position in the heart of Badenoch & Strathspey within the Cairngorms National Park. The town is surrounded by ancient woodlands which provides a unique habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.

Grantown is located 35 miles south of Inverness and 15 miles north of Aviemore. It is an established all-year holiday destination particularly for outdoor enthusiasts and is popular in the winter season with skiers and snowboarders.

It is a central base for those fishing on the River Spey, climbing, walking, and exploring the countryside. The town is also conveniently located for the famous 70-mile-long Speyside Malt Whisky Trail.

Located within the popular Achnagonalin Industrial Estate a mile east of the town centre, offering easy access to the A95 Aviemore/Elgin trunk road, the Green Energy Park development provides energy efficient, low carbon, business units.

The development benefits from a low-cost and maintenance free renewable energy biomass district heating network powered by two on-site biomass boilers which provide heating for the development with a blow-air space heater fitted within each of the 10 units.

In addition, solar photovoltaic panels generating clean electricity are fitted to the rear roof pitches of the units. Electric Vehicle charge points are also available on site.

The units are clad with insulated profile metal sheets. Each unit is ready for an incoming tenant’s fit-out and has the benefit of a vehicle access roller door as well as a pedestrian door. In addition, a single disabled toilet is provided to the rear of each unit

Designated car parking will be provided adjacent to each unit while the perimeter of the overall site is bounded with security fencing and double access gates.

James O’Brien, Managing Director at Highland Woodchip, said: “We have created sustainable units for local SMEs to thrive in their businesses with super-low energy costs, to assist these businesses in meeting their environmental responsibilities as they work towards meeting their own net zero carbon objectives in the fight to save our planet.

“There is no other industrial estate in the Highlands and maybe even Scotland that has EPC Ratings of A. We have created first class facilities and are proud of these recent achievements.”

Linda Cameron, from the Inverness office of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, added: “The green energy installations on offer will greatly assist occupiers in reducing their carbon footprint and protect their businesses from rising energy costs.

“We have five units remaining available for let on flexible lease terms. Suitable for various uses, the units qualify for 100% rates relief.”

Individual units are available from 1,076 sq ft at a rent from £10,000 per annum. Multiple units can be combined to suit larger floor space requirements. Interested parties should contact the sole letting agent on tel 01463 712239.
