It has a bustling town centre full of local businesses, café’s, restaurants and more amenities through the wider area. For instance, the town has five golf courses, and one of the oldest in the world. It is primarily an upper-middle-class commuter suburb for residents travelling to Glasgow each day for work. Transport links are excellent, with well-developed railway (three nearby stations), road, and bus links to Glasgow.
