Who
Borderer Michael Rutherford is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is an RICS registered valuer based in our Galashiels office.
That was then
Michael studied at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh where he achieved an honours degree in Estate Management. After various summer placements, he took on a full time role with a surveying practice in 2007 before joining Shepherd in 2013.
This is now
Michael works with William Laidlaw in the Galashiels office where his primary role is residential valuation, carrying out Home Report surveys and valuations for mortgage purposes. He is also a qualified domestic energy assessor.
Rest and play
A big sports fan, Michael enjoys all sports. He plays rugby for Selkirk RFC in his home town and plays golf to a handicap of 14. He also enjoys music, films and a couple beers with his friends after the rugby.
