Police Scotland instructs Shepherd to auction former police station in Lairg

Police Scotland has instructed Shepherd Chartered Surveyors to auction a former police station in Lairg.

Located at the eastern end of Loch Shin within Sutherland, the scenic village of Lairg lies 18 miles west of Golspie, 44 miles northeast of Ullapool and 48 miles north of Inverness, the main administrative centre for the Highlands.

The attractive detached two-storey building with detached garage and on-site car parking occupies a prominent location directly adjacent to Lairg Fire Station on Main Street where it connects with Davidson Terrace forming part of the main A839 running through the village.

The accommodation provides mainly cellular space across ground and first floors.

Linda Cameron, from the Inverness office of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: “For sale with vacant possession, this attractive detached property offers a rare redevelopment opportunity which may suit residential use, subject to planning.”

The property is going under the hammer at a guide price of £145,000 in a live-streamed auction featuring 35 commercial properties and development land located across Scotland going under the hammer in a live-streamed auction on Thursday 22nd February at 2:30pm.

With a number of attractive opportunities to add value, all properties are open to remote bidding online, on the phone and by proxy.

The online auction involves the posting of various lots online for which the auctioneer invites pre-authorised buyers to post bids via a live broadcast. This live broadcast will witness a significant level of competitive bidding as several of the lots are already attracting widespread interest.
