Chartered residential valuation surveyor, based out of our Dalkeith office covering Midlothian.

That was then
After graduating from the University of Abertay, Dundee with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. Allan spent the best part of a decade living overseas, spending a year in Australia and seven years in China, before returning to Edinburgh and achieving an MSc in Property Management and Investment from Edinburgh Napier University, following which, he joined J & E Shepherd in June 2015 qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 2017.

This is now
Allan forms part of the residential team within the Dalkeith office. His work includes: Home Report surveys, mortgage valuations, valuations for tax purposes and Energy Performance Certification.

Rest and play
Away from the office, Allan enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, reading, studying Chinese, surfing, following rugby and practicing judo.

Who
Born and raised in the Scottish Borders, Chris is a Partner within our Dalkeith Residential office. Chris has an extensive knowledge of the residential property market and enjoys working closely and building relationships with Solicitor & Estate Agents, individuals and lenders.

That Was Then
After graduating from Heriot watt University with a degree in Building Surveying, Chris joined the Scottish Borders Council as a Building Standards Surveyor, qualifying as a RICS Chartered Surveyor in May 2011 and is now a RICS Registered Valuer . Chris joined the Musselburgh office in April 2015 where his primary role was a Residential Valuation Surveyor. He transferred across to the Edinburgh office in December 2016 and joined the Dalkeith office in 2017.

This Is Now
Chris carries out various types of surveys that include Valuations, Home Reports and Energy Performance Certificates for lenders, private clients, solicitors, estate agents and developers throughout the Midlothian and Scottish Borders areas. Chris became an Associate in 2017 and a Partner in 2019 within our firms Dalkeith office.

Rest And Play
Chris is a fan of most sports. After finishing playing rugby, he can now be found on the sidelines watching with his family.  He is also trying his hand at golf when the weather shines- although admittedly failing!!
