Who
Glasgow-born Gavin Russell is an Associate and registered valuer who works in the commercial department within our Dundee and Dunfermline offices.

That Was Then
Having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University, Gavin began his career with J&E Shepherd in 2005 and aside from a brief relocation to Perth from 2014-2017, has been working in our Dundee office in our Commerical Department. Gavin also completed a secondment to the Tayside local assessor in 2014. In 2020 Gavin took over the running of our Dunfermline Commercial office. 

This Is Now
Gavin was promoted to Associate in 2023. He has over 20 years experience in the Tayside, Angus, and Fife commercial property markets, with particular focus and expertise in Commercial Valuation and Agency Sales and Lettings.

 Rest And Play
Gavin lives just outside Perth with his wife and two children. Gavin has an eclectic mix of sporting interests and regularly zigzags his way round Golf Courses throughout Perthshire (Handicap 12) and is a member of Club300 gym in Perth.  Other sporting interests include football and basketball although nowadays he sticks to the armchair.

Gavin’s other interest is on the Theatre stage where he frequently sings and performs in local amateur musicals in front of thousands (or sometimes tens) of people in various principal and supporting roles as a member of Perth Amateur Operatic Society (PAOS), who perform annually at Perth Theatre.

Dundee-born Gerry McCluskey is a partner in our Dundee commercial office.

That was then
Gerry joined the firm in 1979 and completed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors correspondence course. He was elected as a professional associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in March 1989 and was assumed as an associate partner in the same year, a full partner in 1996 and completed a post graduate diploma in property investment a year later.

This is now
Gerry is involved in the running of the firm’s commercial department in Dundee, covering the Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and Fife areas providing advice to property investors and property owners, institutional lenders, receivers and insolvency practitioners and private clients. He is closely involved in all aspects of the firm’s commercial business and provides commercial valuation, rent review, portfolio management and commercial agency advice to clients.

Rest and play
Gerry is married with a son and daughter and in his spare time enjoys football, ice-hockey, socialising, and spending time with his grandchild.

Who
Dundee-born John Paul Bennett is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the firm’s finance director based between our Dundee and Edinburgh offices.

That was then
After graduating from Glasgow University in 2002, John Paul joined Lloyds TSB’s graduate training program. He spent over five years with LTSB in London in a variety of finance roles before the call of Caledonia brought him back north. He joined the firm upon his return in 2008 and was appointed to managing partner in 2011.

This is now
John Paul has overall responsibility for the accounting and finance functions of the firm, which are largely based in our Dundee head office. He is involved with both the daily accounting processes and the internal and external management and financial reporting. In addition, he has responsibility for the firm’s payroll and human resources.

Rest and play
When he is not chasing around after his young twins, or taking Munro his westie for walks, he likes to consider himself a bit a 5 a-side football maestro or a mediocre squash player. His array of headbands and sweatbands is more impressive than an Eric Prydz music video.

Who
Aberdeen-born Jonathan Reid is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a partner based in our commercial department covering Dundee, Perth, and Fife.

That was then
Having become a fully qualified member of the RICS, Jonathan joined the firm in 1999 in the Dundee office. He became an associate in 2006 and a partner in 2010.

This is now
Jonathan covers the Dundee, Angus, Perthshire, and Fife areas, providing advice to property investors and property owners, institutional lenders, receivers and insolvency practitioners, and private clients. He is closely involved in all aspects of the firm’s commercial business and provides commercial valuation, rent review, and commercial agency advice to our clients.

Rest and play
Jonathan is married with a son and daughter and is a keen swimmer and President of Dundee City Aquatics. He is an avid follower of Aberdeen FC, enjoys golf (a handicap of 11), and plays as much sport as work and family commitments allow.

Who
Dundee born Lee Taylor is based in our Dundee office.

That was then
Lee joined Shepherds after leaving school in 2015 and since graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2020.

This is now
Based in the residential department of our Dundee office. Lee qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2022 gaining his MRICS status.

Rest and play
Lee spends his free time watching football and playing golf.

Who
Paul Taylor is a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a registered valuer, and partner in the residential office in Dundee.

That was then
Born and educated Dundee, he joined the firm in 1986, became an associate in 1994, and partner in 1999. He has worked in the Dundee office his entire career.

This is now
Paul is responsible for the overall management of the Dundee residential department, specialising in Home Reports, residential surveys, and valuation.

Rest and play
Married with two sons and a daughter, Paul enjoys busy family life and holidays abroad. A Dundee FC season ticket holder and keen golfer being a member of Carnoustie and Downfield Golf Clubs with a current handicap of six.

Who
Dundee-born Scott Robertson is based in our Dundee office.

That was then
Scott joined the firm a number of years ago and previously worked in the residential valuation department.

This is now
Based in the commercial department of the Dundee office, Scott covers a wide range of sales and lettings agency work.

Rest and play
Scott enjoys playing and watching most sports.
