Dumfries-born Craig McKnight is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a surveyor based in our Dumfries office.

Having joined the firm in 1996 in the Dumfries office as a trainee, he then qualified to become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2003. He has remained in the Dumfries office ever since.
This is now
Craig has overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Dumfries office commercial valuation and estate agency department. As well as carrying out commercial valuations for banks, investors, funds, and private clients, Craig is involved in residential valuations and Home Reports.

In his spare time, Craig enjoys playing competitive sports in the form of golf, football, squash, and badminton. He is also a keen country sports enthusiast, which for him involves game shooting and fishing.

Dumfries born Fraser Carson is an Associate working out of the Dumfries office.

Having joined the firm as a trainee in 2006, Fraser graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2011 and become an MRICS Chartered Surveyor in 2014.

Fraser was promoted to an Associate in 2019 and heads the local commercial valuation & agency department that is active throughout Dumfries & Galloway.

Dumfries born Ian Young is a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer.

Having joined the firm in 1990 as a trainee, shortly after Shepherd Chartered Surveyors opened their Dumfries office in 1988, Ian has acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the local residential market. Whilst his day-to-day work is now focused solely on the residential sector, he has also been involved in the commercial valuation and estate agency divisions of the business in the past.

Ian works within a team of highly experienced and dedicated property professionals in the firm’s Dumfries branch, that covers the whole of rural southwest Scotland.
He is a Partner in the business, and specialises in the preparation of Home Reports, mortgage valuations and private client reports for a variety of purposes, on properties spread across Dumfries & Galloway.

Malcolm was born in Dundee, is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and is a partner based in our Dumfries office.
That was then
Having joined the firm in 1984, Malcolm worked in both the residential and commercial departments in the Dundee office. After becoming an associate, he moved to Dumfries in 1994 to take control of the firm’s office there. Malcolm became a partner in 1999.
This is now
Malcolm is the partner in charge of the Dumfries office. He is a past Chairman of the Dumfries & Galloway Region of the RICS and serves on the RICS Scotland Residential Property Group Board.
